Rugrats is a really strong depiction of realistic family dynamics. Lots of interesting stuff in the background. Also one of the best representations of a modern American Jewish family on television, I grew up in a mixed-faith situation as well and the Pickles felt incredibly relatable.
I grew up in a rural southern baptist community with zero Jewish kids, Rugrats was literally my first introduction to Judaism that wasn’t through an evangelical Christian lens. So I’m glad that it wasn’t a terrible representation!
This is the woke DEI agenda fascists want you to be afraid of (though I think they called it “political correctness” in those days)
